A special three-part series, hear from TRACE members representing a diversity of industries as they address key points mentioned in various government guidance and how they’ve implemented the same within and across the compliance program and function.

In March 2023 the U.S. Department of Justice issued updated guidance on the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs. The Serious Fraud Office has published similar guidance on its website for the UK Bribery Act as have other governmental agencies. Setting out clear expectations for how companies should be governing their compliance function, such guidance has left compliance officers with the task of updating and expanding their compliance programs to ensure their programs are keeping pace with new and evolving government expectations.

The second in a series highlighting the unique experiences of TRACE members at the forefront of compliance within their industry sector, this session will focus in on a topic that concerns every compliance officer today – risk mitigation and management.
Advancements in technology, especially within the last two years, have enhanced the reporting and communication capabilities available to compliance programs, but also created greater scrutiny from enforcement agencies due to the risks associated with those advancements. During today’s session, our speaker will address the recent digitization of the shipping and logistics sector and how these tools, like AI, have assisted with risk mitigation, especially during the current geopolitical climate.
This session will also provide insight into whether digitization has helped to navigate the current risks within the shipping industry due to a post-pandemic business atmosphere, risks due to sanctions and sanctioned goods (such as the Russian Oil Cap), and offer tips from current “real-life” efforts as to how to best combat risk within your own compliance program.

The third in a series highlighting the unique experiences of TRACE members at the forefront of compliance within their industry sector, this session will focus in on two topics driving compliance discussions today – ESG and modern slavery risks.
In recent months (and years) the regulatory landscape in this area has considerably evolved with more global regulation on the horizon. Hear during this session how one organization is ensuring its compliance program evolves to meet these and other preeminent risks facing global multi-national organizations today.
